Tenacious Defense During U-12 Boys 1st Basketball Game

11 Nov 2018 by Bruce Jung

The Cumberland Athletics U-12 Trail Blazers boys basketball team opened its season against the Madison Knights of Richmond, KY this past Tuesday night. A raucous crowd of family and friends attended the game to cheer on these fine young men.
Although the score was predictably lopsided as we were playing an older junior varsity team, the Trail Blazers came out and played hard. The opposing coach was impressed with the “tenacious” man-to-man defense demonstrated by our young athletes.
Coach Jung was impressed with the guys’ determination and hustle. “Overall our young men followed instructions, played hard and were a joy to watch. It’s always rewarding to see good results from hard practice.”
The coaches plan to work on some more offensive skills, but will continue to concentrate on aggressive man-to-man defense as this training will be invaluable as these guys move on to higher levels of play in their future.
Go, BLazers!
