Home Opener a Real Hit!

3 Oct 2018 by Bruce Jung

The Lynn Camp Lady Cats did not know what hit them! Luckily for them, it was not any of the thundering kills by Brooklyn Jung (which brought grown men to their feet in awe, BTW) that hit them. It turned out that our Lady Blazers were just too well-trained, too determined and too skilled to beat the night before last. I almost felt sorry for them (almost) when I saw the dejected faces of the Lady Cat’s coaches as they sat hunched over in their chairs.

In three straight sets (25-14, 25-19, 25-13) the Trail Blazers won their fourth game of the season. “Poison” Ivy and "Take ‘em down” River provided all the serving that was needed to ignite the route. Abby Diehl served consistently as well, and Brooklyn Jung demonstrated that she can serve hard, also. And did you happen to see Kristin Renee make our day by flying all over the court with digs, saves and (almost) pancakes? My, that girl can play. Alex Grace played great demonstrating her natural athleticism and blocking instincts. (Take ‘em down) Zoe Brown was back on her game playing good defense as the libero. Then there was Faith pounding the net from the outside hitter position.

Folks, I’m not sure about you, but I’m thinking this is a team for the ages! (Not aged) Keep playing tough, Blazers! It’s a joy to watch you roll!
